Basic Info BioBorn on 28th May 1988, Maressa Zahirah Abdul Manaff was brought up in a happy home in Bedok Reservoir, Singapore. Her mother is of Pakistani-Portugese heritage and her father is of Javanese-Malay descent. She has 2 siblings, a sister 5 years older than her (read: there was one a competition on her YouTube account for people to guess who was older. only ONE person got it right) and a brother who is her junior by 4 years.
She was always the songstress, singing along to cartoon theme songs by the age of 3 and by the age of 5, got a chance to perform with her classmates in a singing and dancing showcase before graduating from kindergarten.
Throughout Primary school, Maressa spent her time doing extra curricular activities in sports and in Malay Dance as well as a few weeks in the Choir. She also did a few performances with a group of friends, like for the departure of her principal in primary 4, and also her graduation.
When Maressa entered Secondary School, she quickly made friends as she was a social butterfly, but one more thing that helped her gain friends was her interest in music. Her close friends and classmates soon realized her potential and bet her to join a singing competition that ultimately finds talent to perform for the Teachers' Day concert.
She went on not only to perform in the Teachers' Day Concert for that year, but also a few years later and also did a dance performance in Secondary 3. She also did performances for two graduation ceremonies and also did outside performances for her cousin's weddings.
Maressa was not only a music freak, she was also into sports. She was in the National Cadet Corps, which was a mock-army Co-Curricular School Activity. She was also in the Netball team and played various positions. For the first two years in secondary school, Maressa was also in the school's Student Councillors union.
Maressa went on to finish secondary school in 2004 and went on to do Mobile and Wireless Computing at Temasek Polytechnic, but soon found out that the course was not made for her and was forced to leave. She is currently awaiting enrollment in courses that she is more fitted to do.
In the mean-time, Maressa is spending some of her time helping out around the house, singing on youtube(www.youtube.com/maressaz), getting her license(got it on the 28th February), etc.
